Introducing the New Online Sentryum Rack Range from Riello UPS

Specialist Power Systems are pleased to be able to offer Riello UPS’s newest range of online Uninterruptible Power Supplies - the Sentryum Rack as part of our extensive Riello UPS portfolio.

The modular version of Riello’s transformer-free range is specifically designed for industrial applications offering maximum flexibility, offering high standards of efficiency and optimal performance.

This feature makes them suitable for industrial environments where it is common for the network to be disturbed. The Sentryum Rack also guarantees great flexibility and simplicity during both the maintenance or replacement phases of a module, and when an additional UPS module is added to the system to increase the available power or redundancy.

The new Sentryum Rack joins Riello UPS’s other modular UPS systems, including the award-winning Multi Power UPS for data centres.

Its advanced design ensures that all the power connections (input, output, batteries) are separate and isolated from the communication signal connections, thus removing the possibility of any disturbance from the supply network, which in industrial environments is often distributed and prone to problems.

The Sentryum Rack incorporates many of the characteristics of the already-popular Sentryum range:

• Proven performance: up to 96.3% UPS efficiency in online mode whilst ensuring unity power (kW = kVA)
• Quality power: delivers power factor correction upstream of the UPS to reduce harmonics (<1% at resistive load and <1.5% at non-linear load)
• Maximum protection: handles short circuits (i.e. 150% for 300 msec) and overloads (i.e. 150% for 1 minute), meaning it can deal with sudden peaks without transferring the critical load to bypass.
• User-friendly: Large colour touchscreen display panel and intuitive LED status indicator that changes colour depending on the UPS’s status.

The power connections are managed by sturdy Harting cables and the plug & play connectors are specifically designed to operate in harsh industrial environments, which ensure simplicity and safety when inserting and removing them.

The connection terminals of the modules are arranged in such a way that the connections of the communication signals are isolated and separated from the power ones (input, output, bypass line, battery) thus ensuring complete immunity from disturbances generated by the power supply network.

Building on the success of the popular online Sentryum, Riello UPS have developed this new modular series to ensure power continuity in settings such as factories and processing plants that are prone to harsh environmental conditions (Dust, humidity, suspended chemical particles, etc.) or industrial processes.

The Sentryum Rack is available as either a 20 kVA standalone model that fits in standard 19-inch server racks or as a modular UPS that can be scaled up to a maximum capacity of 160 kVA, both of which can be in single-phase and three-phase output configurations. Each cabinet in the modular version can hold up to 3 20 kVA modules, offering users “pay as you grow” scalability.
