UPS batteries unfortunately don’t last forever and deteriorate over time. Our battery technicians will manage the complete battery replacement process from start to finish with minimal disruption to your business.
When the time comes to replace your UPS batteries, we can offer batteries from all the major manufacturers. We will take on all elements of the project from de-commissioning and safe disposal of the failed battery cells to installation of new replacements.
We can also re-configure or modify existing DC installations as required.
To detect and identify potential early battery failures, we offer a comprehensive battery impedance and conductance testing service.
By identifying early signs of weakness, we can highlight any necessary battery replacements before a critical fault occurs.
We recommend regular testing every 6 to 12 months to accurately forecast your batteries predicted end of life, enabling you to plan and budget for replacement costs.
Specialist Power Systems remote battery monitoring services will ensure your UPS batteries are under constant review. With 24/7/365 monitoring, you can avoid costly full battery replacements by detecting weak batteries early, enabling preventative intervention.
With real-time reporting, you can better understand how your UPS batteries are working over-time and most importantly alert you if you have any issues that may need to be addressed.
Disposal of UPS batteries is regulated by the UK’s Environment Agency and requires specialist accreditations to be able to dispose and recycle Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries.
Throwing them away with general waste is illegal, bad for the environment and can incur severe penalties for non-compliance. Make sure your business doesn’t fall foul of these regulations with our UPS battery disposal service.
As part of our ISO 14001 environmental management accreditation, we make sure that all batteries are disposed of in accordance with the Environment Agency regulations. As a certified waste carrier, we will ensure all batteries are recycled with a full audit trail and necessary certification.
